Accused Mubin in PM’s security protocol breaching placed on 5-day remand

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today granted five-day remand to 29-year-old Mahibullah Mubin who was arrested for allegedly breaching the security protocol of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s motorcade in the capital’s Farmgate area.

Police produced him before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka today. The investigating officer of the case sought a seven-day remand for Mubin.

After hearing the plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sara Farzana granted five-day remand.

Mubin allegedly breached the Prime Minister’s security protocol and approached close to the Prime Minister’s vehicle when the premier was on his way to attend a programme at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in the capital’s Khamarbari area Saturday afternoon.

Police subsequently detained him at the scene.

A case was later filed with Tejgaon Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the incident.
