DHAKA, May 23, 2026 (BSS)- A total of 2, 05, 382 cases have been settled through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service of the National Legal Aid Organization (NLASO), official sources said here today.
This information was given in a report prepared on the activities of Legal Aid from 2009 to April 2026. The report has been published recently on the organization's website, the sources added.
The report said that during this period, a total of 2, 32, 174 cases including pre and post case, were initiated under the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service.
Out of these, 2, 05, 382 cases have been settled. The number of beneficiaries of these cases and disputes settled through ADR is 4, 00, 567 people.
According to the report, legal services have been provided to 14, 61, 630 people at government expense during the same period. The service covered the High Court and Appellate Divisions of the Supreme Court, the lower courts and labor courts of the country and the indigent prisoners in prisons.
This service is being provided at government expense under the ‘Legal Aid Act’ to provide legal assistance to the financially insolvent and helpless litigants.
The NLASO under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs is conducting this program since 2009.
