DHAKA, May 01, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today granted four-day remand for Mahidul Islam, 42 and  Chan Mia, 46, drive and caretaker of Major General (Retd.) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, military adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi put them on four-day remand in a case filed against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Police arrested Mahidul Islam from Thakurgaon and Chan Mia from the Bhashantek area of Dhaka on April 19 last.

According to the case statement, the accused held procession in the city on September 12, 2025 for Awami League and its affiliated bodies. Police filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Ramna thana in this connection.
