KHULNA, Apr 23, 2026 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment in a murder case in Paikgachha upazila four years ago.

Khulna District and Sessions Judge Chand Mohammad Abdul Alim Al Razi delivered the verdict against Prokash Sardar. 
However, his wife, Rupa Sardar, was acquitted of the charge.

According to the case details, Sukhen Sardar was killed around 8 pm on March 7, 2022, near a shrimp farm at Kharia Dharenga Char village under Paikgachha upazila.

The victim’s mother, Amela Rani Sardar, filed a case with the concerned police station on March 8, accusing unidentified persons.

Sub-Inspector Sukanta later submitted a charge sheet accusing the couple in connection with the murder.
