DHAKA, May 5, 2026 (BSS) – Fact-checking organization, Rumor Scanner, has labeled the claim of SSC exam question paper leak as completely false.
According to Rumor Scanner, the allegation of a question leak is entirely a rumor.
In reality, no exam questions were leaked. Instead, a fraudulent group manipulated edited message histories using a telegram bot to create confusion.
Rumor Scanner further reported that among the two students whose statements went viral claiming a leak, one was misled and became a victim of deception, while the other later clarified that their comment was made jokingly.
Fact-checking organizations say that since the mass uprising of 2024, there has been an increase in the spread of misinformation about Bangladesh through various media outlets, social media accounts, and some Facebook pages.
This disinformation has particularly targeted the interim government, as well as political parties and organizations involved in the 2024 movement. Additionally, attempts have been identified to spread rumors and false information against the newly elected BNP government.
Rumor Scanner continues to play a key role in combating misinformation, rumors, and fake news in Bangladesh, and in ensuring that accurate information reaches the public.
In a recent report, Rumor Scanner stated that Tarique Rahman has been the target of the highest number of rumors (133 cases), while the BNP as a party has faced the highest number overall (360 cases).
