Two die, 56 more test positive for COVID-19 in Naogaon

 NAOGAON, July 16, 2021 (BSS) - A number of 56 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 438 samples at  Dhaka Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory, Dhaka,  Bogura TMSS Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory and Naogaon 250-bed Modern Sadar Hospital COVID-19 rapid antigen testing centers.
 
The new positive cases, 25 are in Sadar upazila, nine in Raninagar upazila, seven in Atrai upazila, two in Manda upazila, six in Badalgachhi upazila, two in Mohadevpur, one in Dhamoirhat upazila, one in Patnitala upazila and three in Sapahar upazila of the district.
 
The infection rate is about 12.78 percent in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed, told BSS.
 
Meanwhile, two persons have died with coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in the district, deputy civil surgeon of the district said.
 
The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 5,489 and the number of recovery cases stood at 4,505.
 
 Meanwhile, 24 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.
 
A total of 111 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.
 
Dr. Manjur-A-Morshed said 53 infected persons are now undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the district and rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
 
The health expert urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
 
He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
