KHULNA, Sept 11, 2026 (BSS) – Police on Friday arrested a youth with a foreign-made pistol, a  bullet and 2,000 contraband yaba tablets from the Nirala area of the city, said a KMP press release.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested Md Ashrafuzzaman Jibon, 23, from his bedroom on the second floor of a house at Kashimnagar Road under Sadar Police Station between 2:50am and 3:30am today.

Police also recovered a foreign-made pistol, one magazine, one round of ammunition and 2,000 yaba tablets from his possession.

Jibon is the son of late Abdul Hamid and Asia Khatun of Kashimnagar Road No. 2 in Nirala area of the city.

Separate cases have been filed with Khulna Sadar Police Station in these connection, the press release added.
