RCC adamant to implement dengue prevention, cleanliness campaign successfully

RAJSHAHI, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is adamant to implement the 'Nationwide Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign, 2026' successfully.
 
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will formally inaugurate the three-month-long programme on September 12.

To this end, a preparatory meeting of the Rajshahi City Corporation was held with the aim of successfully implementing this programme.

The meeting was held this afternoon in the conference room of Nagar Bhaban, with Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation, present as the chief guest.
 
In the meeting, the RCC Administrator said the government has taken special initiatives to control dengue. 

To successfully implement this programme, everyone including the conservancy department must work together. Rajshahi metropolis has a reputation across the country as a clean city. That reputation must be maintained. Everyone must work with more sincerity and responsibility.
 
He further said places where Aedes mosquito larvae can breed must be identified in each ward. Cleaning activities must be further intensified.
 
Everyone must be made aware about clearing bushes, removing water hyacinth from ponds or ditches and drains, preventing water accumulation in under-construction buildings, and keeping drain water flowing. 

He called upon the councilors and secretaries in charge of all wards to play an important role in this regard.
 
The meeting, presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, was attended by RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun Dollar, and Chief Health Officer Dr. Anjuman Ara Begum, officials of the Health Department, Conservancy Department and secretaries of various wards.
