RAJSHAHI, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton has given necessary instructions to the concerned to complete the flyover construction work within the stipulated time.

He also directed to take necessary steps to quickly repair the potholes on the roads of Gorhanga Rail Gate and surrounding areas and to improve the drainage system to reduce public suffering.

The administrator came with the direction while inspecting the concerned area at Gorhanga Rail Gate in the city with the aim of improving the under-construction flyover, repairing potholes on roads in the said area, and improving the drainage system.

This noon, during the inspection, he reviewed on the spot the overall issues including the progress of the under-construction flyover, the current condition of the road and the drainage system.

At that time, the Administrator told journalists, "Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me the responsibility to ensure citizen services. I am working to implement the Prime Minister's directives."

The construction work of the flyovers had been stalled for a long time. As soon as he took charge, he took initiatives to complete the work of the flyovers at a fast pace.

To remove public suffering, the work of 3 flyovers will be completed in the shortest possible time. Once the construction work is completed, it will be opened for the citizens.

The City Corporation is working with importance to ensure ease of movement for city dwellers and to remove various civic sufferings including solving waterlogging.

Instructions have been given to the concerned to ensure the quality of work as well as to complete the ongoing development works properly within the stipulated time.

He further said various initiatives have been taken by Rajshahi City Corporation to prevent dengue.

To prevent dengue, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a nationwide dengue prevention and cleanliness drive on September 12.

As per the Prime Minister's directive, this drive will be conducted in all wards of the City Corporation. With everyone's cooperation, the city corporation is working to build a dengue-free city.
 
During the inspection, Western Zone of Railway General Manager Ahmed Hossain Masum, RCC's Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, Executive Engineer Nilufer Yasmin and concerned engineers were present.
