RAJSHAHI, Aug 30, 2026 (BSS) - A father and son have been arrested with 185 pieces of yaba, Tk 31,000, and a motorcycle in a police raid in Charghat, Rajshahi.
 
The raid was conducted at 8:45 PM on Saturday in the Moktarpu Naodara area of Charghat Upazila.
 
The arrested accused are Azam Ali, 60, and his son Mohammad Zahid, 30, both from Baduria village in the upazila.
 
According to police sources, the operation was conducted under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Charghat-Bagha Circle, and led by Mahabubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charghat Model Police Station.
 
During the operation, Zahid was arrested in the Moktarpu Naodapara area. 

Police recovered 185 pieces of yaba, Tk 31,000, and a motorcycle from his possession. In connection with the incident, police also arrested his accomplice and father, Azam Ali.
 
Mahabubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charghat Model Police Station, said a case has been filed against the accused at Charghat Model Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
 
He also said that the anti-narcotics operation will continue.
