CHATTOGRAM, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 143 people were arrested in an anti-drug drive conducted across 11 districts under Chattogram Range in the past 24 hours.

During the drive, law enforcers recovered 5,784 yaba tablets, 88 kilograms and 153 grams of cannabis, 681 litres and 25 millilitres of illegal liquor, 47 bottles of cough syrup, 20 tapentadol tablets and 47 bottles of Indian liquor.

DIG of Chattogram Range Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury said 151 operations were conducted at different locations across the range on Wednesday.
 
A total of 37 cases were filed in connection with the drive, while the 143 arrested people were later produced before the court, he said.

The anti-drug drive is still underway, the DIG added.
