Ctg BNP holds doa mahfil marking Khaleda Zia's birth anniversary

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - Chattogram city BNP and Chhatra Dal organised milad and doa mahfils here today marking the 82nd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Begum Khaleda Zia.

The city BNP organised this mahfil after Zohr prayers at the BNP office mosque at Nasimon Bhaban in Kazir Dewri area of the district.

City BNP Convener and lawmaker Ershad Ullah, its Member Secretary Nazimur Rahman and Chattogram-9 lawmaker Abu Sufian, among other city and central BNP leaders attended the programme.

The participants recalled Begum Khaleda Zia's political life and her long struggle for establishing democracy in the country. 

A special munajat was offered seeking Jannah for Begum Khaleda Zia, former Chairperson of BNP.

Prayers were also offered for the BNP founder and former president Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, Begum Khaleda Zia and party leaders and activists who died at different times, including during democratic movements.
 
In addition, prayers were also offered for the long life and wellbeing of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and members of the Zia family.

Meanwhile, Chattogram city Chhatra Dal organised another milad and doa mahfil at the same office after Asr prayers.

City Chhatra Dal Convener Saiful Alam, its Member Secretary Shariful Islam Tuhin, Joint Conveners-- Asif Chowdhury Limon, Sabbir Ahmed, Rajibul Haque Bappi and Noor Zafar Rahul, among other leaders attended the programme.

Besides, a Khatme Quran, doa mahfil and tabarruk distribution were held at Pahartali Girls' School this morning on the initiative of Desh Rokkha Tareq Mancha.

Former city Jubo Dal president Mosharraf Hossain Dipti and vice-president Fazlul Haque Sumon, Khulshi Thana BNP president Abdus Sattar Salemi and Jubo Dal convener Helal Uddin and others attended the programme.
