Tree plantation program held at RMP headquarters

RAJSHAHI, Aug 12, 2026 (BSS) - A tree plantation program was held today at the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Headquarters as part of the government's initiative to plant 25 crore saplings across the country over the next five years.

The program was organized in cooperation with the Hope-Bridge Foundation. 

RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir planted saplings of various species and stressed the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, creating a greener metropolis and ensuring a livable environment for future generations.

He welcomed such public welfare initiatives by social organizations and urged people to work together to protect the environment.

Additional Commissioner Faruk Hossain and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Khorshed Alam also planted fruit-bearing saplings. Deputy Commissioner Gaziur Rahman and other senior RMP officials were present.

Representing the Hope-Bridge Foundation were President Dr. Naushia Orin, Vice-President Sadia Islam and executive members Nafia Tabassum, Jannatun Tajri, Sania Sheikh, Shamsunnahar Tonni, Zakia Farin and Muskan Ira, among others.

The Police Commissioner expressed hope that the initiative would raise public awareness about environmental conservation and encourage more socially driven tree plantation programs.
