CHATTOGRAM, Aug 8, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested a fugitive convict sentenced to life imprisonment in a robbery case filed with Khulshi Police Station in Chattogram.

The arrestee was identified as Md Jasim, also known as Syleti Jasim, 39, son of Sarafat Ali of Mansurabad area under Double Mooring Police Station in the city.

Assistant Director of RAB-7 Chattogram ARM Mozaffar Hossain said a joint team of RAB-7 and RAB-14 conducted a drive in the Gasline area under Bhaluka Police Station in Mymensingh and arrested Jasim.

According to RAB, Jasim had been sentenced to life imprisonment in a robbery case filed with Khulshi Police Station in Chattogram metropolitan area. He had been absconding after the court handed down the sentence.

Following his arrest, Jasim was handed over to Bhaluka Model Police Station in Mymensingh for further legal action, RAB said.
