RANGPUR, July 31, 2026 (BSS) - Speakers at an exchange of views and general meeting have called on all workshop owners and concerned in controlling environmental and noise pollution to build a noise-pollution-free and safe Rangpur city.

They made this call at the exchange of views and general meeting held at the office of the Rangpur Motorcycle Mechanical Workshop Owners Association (RMMWOA) in the Senpara area of the city this (Friday) morning.

Under the direction of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, the RMMWOA organised the programme to increase public awareness to prevent environmental and noise pollution and to ensure discipline in the road situation.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Police (Traffic) of RpMP Maruf Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest with RMMWOA President Rafiqul Islam in the chair.

Rangpur Divisional Director of the Department of Environment Md Runayet Amin Reza participated in the programme as the keynote speaker.

Motor Vehicle Inspector at the Rangpur Circle Office of BRTA Md Mahbubar Rahman and its General Secretary of RMMWOA Md Litan Mia addressed the event as special guests.

Joint General Secretary of RMMWOA Md Golam Rabbani (Angur) moderated the programme held under the supervision of its General Secretary Md Jahurul Haque.

The chief guest said that the conscious role of all workshop owners and concerned in controlling environmental and noise pollution, avoiding unnecessary horns and loud noises, and keeping motorcycle silencers and other parts of the machine up to standard is very important.

"I call on everyone to provide environmentally friendly and legal services spontaneously to control environmental and noise pollution in Rangpur metropolis," he said.

The leaders and members of the RMMWOA present at the programme expressed their determination to work in coordination with the administration to prevent environmental pollution and noise pollution.

"Let's be aware of protecting the environment, and build a noise-pollution- free and safe Rangpur," said RMMWOA president Rafikul Islam in his concluding speech.
