RAJSHAHI, July 30, 2026 (BSS) - A tree plantation programme has been organised on the initiative of Rajshahi Range Police with the aim of increasing greenery across the country, combating the adverse effects of climate change, preserving the environment, and increasing the amount of forest land.

The programme was held today on the premises of the official residence and office of the Range DIG, on the initiative of Ashik Sayeed, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajshahi Range.

In the programme, DIG Md. Ashik Sayeed and his wife Shamim Ara Haque, Advisor, Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK), Rajshahi Range, jointly planted four fruit-bearing and forest saplings.

The DIG said that there is no alternative to extensive tree plantation to maintain environmental balance, preserve biodiversity, and build a green and livable Bangladesh for future generations. 

He urged everyone to actively participate in tree plantation and tree care from their respective positions.

Additional DIG (Crime Management), Rajshahi Range, Superintendent of Police of Rajshahi District, Superintendent of Police (Crime Management), Rang DIG's Office and other senior officers and employees were present at the event.
