NARSINGDI, July 27, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration, along with Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, conducted a joint drive to disconnect illegal gas connections in the Basail and Gorashal areas of the district.
The Titas Gas authorities realized a total of Taka 2.30 lakh in fines through mobile courts in seven cases during the drive.
In the Basail area, Taka 1.10 lakh was fined in three cases under the Bangladesh Gas Act, 2010, while another Taka 1.10 lakh was fined in three cases in the Gorashal area. The authorities also imposed a fine of Taka 10,000 in another case under the Consumers' Right Protection Act, 2009.
District administration sources said such drives against illegal gas use, gas wastage and illegal gas connections would continue in the future.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Narsingdi district administration Nepal Kanti Dev led the mobile court.
