RAJSHAHI, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - At the initiative of the Divisional Office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), a mobile court was conducted in the city today.
 
In this drive, Rahat Enterprise, located in the lane of Saheb Bazar Kali Mandir, was fined Tk. 10,000 for selling foreign 'chocolates and lozenges' without BSTI quality certification and clearance, and brought in illegally without valid import.
 
In addition, special monitoring was conducted at M/s Nayan Petroleum Agency and M/s Afrin Filling Station located in the Talaimari area of the city to stop illegal stockpiling of petrol, octane and diesel at filling stations, prevent rumours, and ensure correct weight and measurement.
 
The mobile court was led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Farhana Hossain, and Engineer Junaid Ahmed, Officer of the Certification Marks Wing of BSTI Divisional Office, acted as the prosecutor.

Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were present at that time. Such BSTI drives in Rajshahi will continue regularly in the public interest to prevent adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products.
