CHATTOGRAM, August 16, 2026 (BSS) - A sailor has been reported missing after falling into the sea from a cargo vessel at the outer anchorage of Chattogram port.

A joint rescue operation involving the Navy and Coast Guard is underway to locate the Bangladeshi stevedore, identified as Md Yasin, 50.

He went missing after falling from the MV Crimson Grace at the port’s Alpha Anchorage at around 12:15pm today.

Syed Refaet Hamim, secretary of the Chittagong Port Authority, confirmed the incident.
