RAJSHAHI, July 20, 2026 (BSS) - A man was sentenced to six months' simple imprisonment by a court here on Sunday in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act with Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi Metropolitan.

Rajshahi Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court-5 delivered the verdict after hearing the case.

The convict was identified as Jony, 32, son of Naushad of Boubazar area under Boalia Police Station.

According to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), Jony was arrested in Boalia Model Police Station Case No. 30, filed on July 18, 2026, under Section 36(1), Table 19(a) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.

After completion of the hearing, the court found him guilty and awarded the punishment.
