RANGPUR, July 11, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main accused in the kidnapping and rape of a college girl from village Bhagirpara under Birganj police station of Dinajpur district on Friday midnight.
 
The arrestee is Md Ibrahim Hussain Emon, 24, son of Md Tawaz Uddin of the same village, a press release said here this afternoon.
 
Citing the statement of the case filed by the victim’s paternal uncle, the release said that the victim of the same village is a student of local Birganj Degree College. She studies at a mess in Birganj upazila town. 
 
The accused had been proposing to the college girl for long time. 
 
Although the victim initially did not agree, the accused later started a love relationship by intimidating the victim. 
 
On April 19, 2026 at 12:45 pm, the accused took the victim on a motorcycle from in front of a cinema hall and took her to his rented house in Birganj town.  
 
There, the accused raped the college girl against her will by tempting her to marry. 
 
Later, the victim's paternal uncle filed a case in a Dinajpur court on charges of kidnapping and rape. The case was registered at Birganj police station on May 8, 2026. 
 
On a tip off, a team of RAB-13 from Dinajpur Camp conducted a raid in village Bhagirpara and arrested the main accused Md Ibrahim Hussain Emon at 11:45 pm on Friday. 

The arrested accused has been handed over to Birganj police station for further legal proceedings.
