SYLHET, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods worth about Taka 10.25 lakh in separate anti-smuggling drives in border areas today.

According to a press release of BGB Sylhet Battalion, the drives were carried out on the basis of intelligence information in the Banglabazar, Tamabil, Sangram and Sripur BOP areas along with the Sylhet frontier. 

The seized items included Indian blankets, cattle, goats and liquor. BGB personnel also intercepted Bangladeshi garlic, betel nuts and a country boat loaded with illegally extracted sand and stones, being smuggled out of the country.

A legal action was taken in connection with the seized goods, the release added.
