RANGPUR, June 14, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the main accused in a Dinajpur child pornography case from Dhaka on Saturday evening for blackmailing after creating pornography by distorting a nine-year old girl child's picture.
 
The arrestee is Md Roni, 30, of the Chuniapara area under Kotwali police station of Dinajpur, according to a press release issued today.

On a tip off, a joint team of RAB-13 from Dinajpur and RAB-1 from Uttara conducted a raid in front of Uttara Baitul Ma'mur Jame Mosque under Turag police station of Dhaka and arrested accused Md Roni from the spot at 6.30 pm on Saturday.
 
The arrested accused has been handed over to the Dinajpur Kotwali police station for further legal action, the release said.
 
Citing the statement of the case filed by the victim’s mother, the release said that the victim of the same area used to access his father's personal Facebook through his father's mobile phone and enjoy various entertainments. 
 
The accused used to open fake Facebook IDs at different times and spread various frauds and edited pictures and videos. 
 
In continuation of this, the accused contacted the Facebook ID used by the victim's father and cleverly saved some of the victim's pictures on their mobile phones. 
 
The accused edited the pictures using various technologies and transformed them into objectionable and ugly pictures. 
 
Later, the accused opened fake Facebook IDs and sent those pictures to the victim's father's Facebook Messenger and demanded money. 
 
When the victim's father refused to pay the money, the accused published the victim’s indecent pictures on the internet from a fake Facebook ID on May 17, 2026.
 
Later, the victim's mother filed a case against the accused at Dinajpur Kotwali police station in this incident on May 24, 2026.
