CUMILLA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a huge quantity of Indian smuggled sarees from the Shibir Bazar border area in Adorsho Sadar upazila of the district.

BGB Cumilla Battalion (BGB-10) Commander Lt Col Mir Ali Ejaz said today that, acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a raid in the area and recovered the smuggled sarees worth about Taka 48.60 lakh in an abandoned condition.

The seized goods will be handed over to the Customs authority after completing the necessary formalities.
