RAJSHAHI, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested former panel mayor of Natore 
Pourashava and former district organizing secretary of Awami League Arifur 
Rahman Masum from Bhadra area in the city today.

Police said Arifur Rahman remained hiding in the city since August 5, 2024. 
On a tip-off, a police team from Chandrima Police station conducted a sudden 
raid at the area and arrested him.

 Subsequently, Chandrima Police handed him over to Natore Sadar Police.

Today noon, police produced Masum before the Natore Chief Judicial Magistrate 
Court showing him arrested in Yeasin Murder case in the house of former Awami 
League MP Shafiqul islam Shimul.

Judge Faisal Tareque passed an order for sending him to jail.

Investigating Officer of the case Natore Thana Sub-inspector of Police 
Shahadat Hossain said they got information of three killing cases against him 
initially.

He also said they will submit a plea for taking him remand for interrogation.
