RAJSHAHI, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS)-  A fake doctor has been sentenced to six months jail on charge of cheating people. 

Rafiqul Hassan had been giving treatment to the patients’ sufferings from brain, nerve, stroke, paralysis, spine and epilepsy at his private chamber at Attaraba Model Hospital at Bhobaniganj Bazar under Bagmara Upazila in the district.

He had also been using a number of degrees like MBBS, MCPS (Medicine) and FCPS (Neuro Medicine) in his personal pad and signboard. 

Rafiqul Hassan had been identifying himself as neuro medicine specialist using a fake registration number of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.  

On information, a mobile led by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Saiful Islam Bhuiyan conducted a raid at his chamber today and found him guilty as he failed to show any valid documents in support of his degrees.  
Subsequently, the mobile court sentenced him to jail and fined Taka 10,000.

The mobile court also fined Taka two lakh against Mashiur Rahman, owner of Attaraba Model Hospital.

Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Shafiullah Newaj was present at the time.
