KHULNA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) – Blankets were distributed among cold-stricken and destitute people in Dumuria of Khulna today.

The distribution programme was held at around 12:30 pm in front of the Dumuria Assistant Commissioner (Land) Office, where winter clothes were handed over to homeless, helpless and impoverished people of the area.

During the programme, homeless people and underprivileged children living on the streets were personally wrapped in blankets amid the biting cold. 

The beneficiaries expressed their happiness after receiving the blankets, saying that the winter clothing would be a great help to them during this severe cold.

Speaking on the occasion, assistant commissioner Amit Kumar Biswas said the Government took the programme to ensure that the genuine cold-stricken and distressed people could receive the blankets.

The winter clothes distribution programmes  would continue in phases, the commissioner added. 

Local  BNP leader and former Upazila Vice-Chairman Gazi Abdul Halim, among others, were present.
