RANGPUR, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 on Saturday night arrested a fugitive life-term convict in a drug case filed with Jatrabari Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from the Old Oil Pump area under Patgram Police Station in Lalmonirhat.

The arrestee was identified as Md Shah Alam, 29, son of late Mujibur Rahman of Musrat Nakhenda village under Rajarhat Police Station in Kurigram district, according to a press release issued here this afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13’s Rangpur Sadar Company conducted a drive and arrested Shah Alam from the Old Oil Pump area around 8 pm.

He was later handed over to Jatrabari Police Station of the DMP for further legal proceedings.

Earlier in 2020, Shah Alam was arrested in Jatrabari, Dhaka, along with a consignment of contraband yaba tablets. He was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment in connection with the case.
