23 candidates file nomination papers for Munshiganj parliamentary constituencies

MUNSHIGANJ, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 23 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, vying for seats in three parliamentary constituencies in Munshiganj district.

According to the Returning Officer and the Deputy Commissioner's Office, candidates have filed nominations in the following constituencies Munshiganj-1 (Srinagar-Sirajdikhan): 7 candidates, Munshiganj-2 (Louhjang-Tongibari): 7 candidates and Munshiganj-3 (Munshiganj Sadar-Gazaria): 9 candidates

Candidates for Munshiganj-1 constituency are Md. Abdullah of BNP, AKM Fakruddir Razi of Jamaat-e-Islami, Md. Atiqur Rahman Khan of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Abdur Rahman of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Independent candidates Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu and Mohammad Momin Ali and Rokeya Akhtar of Insaniat Bilpop, Bangladesh.

Candidates for Munshiganj-2 constituency are Abdus Salam Azad of BNP, ABM Fazlur Karim of Jamaat-e-Islami, Md. Majedul Islam of NCP, Md. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Ashiq Mahmud of Islami Front Bangladesh, Md. Noman Mia of Jatiya Party and KM Billal of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.

Candidates for Munshiganj-3 constituency are Md. Kamruzzaman of BNP, Sheikh Md. Kamal Hossain of the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Md. Suman Dewan of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Md. Anis Molla of Bangladesh Labor Party, Nur Hossain Noorani of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Independent candidate Md. Mohiuddin, Md. Arifuzzaman Didar of Jatiya Party, Sheikh Md. Shimul of Bangladesh Revolutionary Works Party and Haji Abbas Kazi of Khilafat Majlis.

The last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers is January 20, 2026, while the final list of candidates and allocation of election symbols will be published on January 21, 2026 and the election process will proceed as scheduled.
