Bangladesh will move forward under Tarique Rahman's leadership: Khulna BNP leaders

KHULNA, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - The city BNP leaders here today said Bangladesh would emerge as a safe, democratic and prosperous state under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

They said Tarique Rahman's political foresight, unwavering commitment to democracy and accountability to the people would play a vital role in steering the country out of crisis.

The remarks came at a pre-rally gathering held Monday afternoon, organised by Khulna City BNP ahead of an 'Ananda Rally' marking the scheduled homecoming of Tarique Rahman on December 25.

The leaders further said the BNP is working with a clear roadmap to make state institutions effective and accountable, establish the rule of law and restore economic stability.

They described the state structure reform proposals announced by Tarique Rahman as a reflection of the long-cherished aspirations of the people, adding that implementation of these reforms would help restore democracy, ensure good governance and protect fundamental rights.

They said Tarique Rahman's return to the country would inspire renewed hope among pro-democracy forces. The people want to exercise their voting rights through a free, fair and participatory election, and the BNP remains steadfast in the movement to achieve that goal.

The meeting, chaired by City BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, was addressed, among others, by General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, Masud Parvez Babu, Chowdhury Hasanur Rashid Miraj, K.M. Humayun Kabir, Hafizur Rahman Moni, Advocate Mohammad Ali Babu, Murshid Kamal, Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Molla Farid Ahmed, Asaduzzaman Asad, Habibur Rahman Biswas, Imam Hossain, Abu Sayeed Hawladar Abbas and Advocate Touhidur Rahman Chowdhury.
