Bokul urges youths to engage in sports for drug-free society

KHULNA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Student Affairs Secretary and party-nominated candidate for Khulna-3 constituency Rakibul Islam Bokul today said there is no alternative to sports to protect youths from drug abuse and build a healthy nation.

He made the remarks while addressing the final match and prize-giving ceremony of a football tournament organized by Maheshwarpasha Fusion Community on Saturday afternoon.

Rakibul said the country's youth are severely affected by drug abuse, stressing the need to bring them back to playgrounds for a drug-free future. He added that sports promote discipline, peace and social harmony.

He also said sports are not only a means of physical exercise but a strong tool for national development, adding that greater youth participation can help build a prosperous and drug-free Bangladesh.

At the event, he distributed prizes among the champion Morning Boys Club and runners-up SFC Club and thanked the organizers for their initiative.

Local BNP leaders were also present at the programme.
