JASHORE, Dec 5, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive
last night seized Indian marijuana at the Ghiba border in Sharsha upazila
here.
"Based on secret information, a patrol team of Ghiba Border Outpost (BOP) on
the Indian border took up position in the field adjacent to the plum orchard
in Ghiba Purbapara No. 7 at around 11:30 pm," Jashore BGB (49th Battalion)
Commander Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddiqui told the journalists today.
Sensing the presence of the border security force, the smugglers fled the
scene dropping the bags of marijuana during the drive.
Later, the patrol team found Indian marijuana in the sacks, worth about Taka
1.04 lakh, while they opened those.
The contraband items were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station, where
a case was filed in this connection, the BGB official added.
