Nilphamari will host Rangpur Divisional Book Cycle's 2nd phase

RANGPUR, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - The three-day second phase of 'Rangpur Divisional Book Cycle' will be held in Nilphamari from February 21, 2026 to further accelerate the practice of book reading and make the youth book-oriented.
 
This information was given at a preparatory views-exchange meeting on Rangpur Divisional Book Cycle's second phase and various aspects of the upcoming programme at the Public Library in Nilphamari town on Friday, a press release said here this evening.
 
After the successful completion of the first phase of Rangpur Divisional Book Cycle in Dinajpur, the meeting was arranged in Nilphamari to organize the second phase. 
 
Supervisor and founder of Idea Library of Rangpur Shakil Masud presided over the meeting. 
 
Nilphamari District Government Public Library's Assistant Librarian Md Shahidul Haque, Organiser Md Habib Ullah Biswas and Nilphamari District unit President of National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASCIB) Abdul Momin, lyricist Nilratan Sarkar, addressed the meeting. 
 
On this occasion, the convening committee of the Nilphamari unit of the Book Circle has been formed. 
 
Shakil Masud is the supervisor of the newly formed committee, Akhtaruzzaman Munna is the convener, and Shakil Islam has been nominated as the member-secretary. 
 
Other nominated members of the committee are Abdullah Al Mamun, Maisha Poppy, Afroza Akter Mimi, Md Rakibul Islam Rohan, Monisha Mina, Zaba Roy, Zubayer Ahmed Anik, Nijhum Akhter, Sweety Akhter, Sirajum Munira, Kashpia Jahan Banna, Farzana Akhter Liza, Md Faruk Khandaker, Subash Rishi Lincoln, Kazi Mim, Momedul Islam Chishti and Rani Akhter.
 
The full programme of the Rangpur Divisional Book Circle's second phase to be held in Nilphamari will be announced very soon. 
 
The speakers said that the book circle is not just about reading books, it is a cultural gathering for students who love reading, where reading will be further expanded through book fairs, seminars, quiz competitions, and free book exchange programmes. 
 
They expressed the hope that this event will further accelerate the practice of reading, regional literature, history and tradition, and will make the youth book-oriented.
