KHULNA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) – The Traffic Division of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) today conducted awareness campaigns at several key points of the city—Shiromoni, Fultala Gate, Daulatpur, Shibbari Intersection, Sonadanga, Gallamari, Moylapota and Dakbangla—to enhance traffic awareness, prevent road accidents, and reduce congestion.

During the campaign, motor vehicle and battery-run three-wheeler (easy bike) drivers were instructed to drive only on the left lane and refrain from picking up or dropping off passengers at random locations.
They were also advised not to carry excess passengers and to ensure that protective iron rods are fitted on the right side of the easy bikes.

Drivers were reminded to strictly follow traffic rules while crossing intersections and avoid taking passengers from the right side.

They were also warned against double-lane parking, random overtaking, and excessive speeding. Special caution was advised near schools and colleges.

They were further instructed not to use mobile phones while driving. Both passengers and drivers were urged to contact the police or dial 999 in case of any emergency. The campaign also emphasized maintaining polite behavior with passengers.

At Moylapota, traffic officials directly interacted with easy bike drivers and passengers to raise awareness about traffic rules.

The drivers were cautioned that legal action would be taken if the directives were not followed within the next three to four days.

Additional Commissioner (Traffic and Protocol) of KMP Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled and Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam were present during the awareness campaign.
