BAGERHAT, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – Members of the Coast Guard in a drive arrested the arms supplier of a notorious robber gang ‘Karim Sharif Bahini’ from the Sundarbans early today.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq told BSS this morning. 

He said based on secret information -- that an associate of the robbers’ would go to the Sundarbans through the Harbaria Nandawala Canal area to supply arms and ammunition to the notorious robber ‘Karim Sharif Bahini’ of the Sundarbans -- members of the Coast Guard Base Mongla conducted a special operation in the area at 6 am today.

Sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, the person tried to escape from the spot.

Later, the operation team chased and arrested the arms supplier along with 1 single-barrel gun and 3 round of live cartridges. 

Initial interrogation revealed that the arrested robber associate Abdur Rahim (32) is a resident of Sharankhola in Bagerhat district. He had been assisting the Karim Sharif force by supplying weapons and ammunition for a long time. 

Coast Guard sources said process of filing a case is underway.
