KHULNA, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 
a suspect in the sensational murder of S M Zahidul Islam alias Mintu from 
Bagerhat Sadar area early Thursday.

The arrested was identified as Jihad Molla, 28, son of Abdul Mannan Molla of 
Chandrapara village under Kachua upazila in Bagerhat district, said a press 
release of RAB-6 here today.

On October 15, 2025, eight to 10 masked miscreants entered the house of SM 
Zahidul Islam Mintu at Shibpur village under Kachua upazila and hacked him 
along with his wife Mili Rani Majumder, 35, with sharp weapons, leaving them 
critically injured.

Later, locals rushed the injured couple to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital, where on-
duty doctors referred them to Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH).

Mintu succumbed to his injuries at KMCH while undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, the victim's sister filed a murder case with Kachua 
Police Station against 8-10 unidentified assailants.

The arrested suspect has been handed over to Kachua Police Station for 
further legal action, the release added.
