432 scouts awarded for volunteer work in Natore

NATORE, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 432 scout members of Natore district  have been awarded for volunteer work during the nation's crisis. 

They were awarded certificates of appreciation for controlling and managing traffic on the roads and conducting cleanliness activities after the July uprising.

Recently, these certificates were handed over to 432 members of the Natore District Scouts and Rovers at the individual level. 

Talking to residents of the district, it was learned that after August 5, 2024, no policeman was seen managing and controlling traffic on the roads of Natore. At that time, the routine cleaning activities of the municipality also became chaotic. But the presence of people and vehicles on the roads was normal. 

The township became unclean due to the movement of thousands of people. The roads and highways became chaotic due to the crowd of vehicles. At that time, members of the Natore District Scouts and Rovers came forward to ensure smooth traffic movement alongside making town peaceful and clean.    

For two weeks after the uprising, they performed duties in the Banbelgharia Bypass and Baraharishpur Bypass areas in addition to Natore town  and in the Banpara and Gol Chattar areas of Baraigram upazila. 

They also performed duties in other upazilas of the district at that time. 

District Scouts member Bayezid Bostami Siam said "We have been tirelessly performing traffic duties in the Banpara Gol Chattar area for a week." 

Another Scouts member Meher Nigar Raisa said, "Apart from controlling traffic on the road, we have also conducted cleanliness activities." 

Rover Shayla Akhter Likhi, a student of Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dowla Government College, told BSS that “We performed traffic duties in the Neechabazar area of district town and cleaned garbage. Rover Rohan Hossain Roni, a student of TMSS Polytechnic Institute, said, "It was very hot. But I did not get tired at all from performing my duties during the country's crisis." 

Rover Golam Md. Nasir Haider told BSS that while performing the duties of traffic police in the town, we also monitored the goods carried in the vehicles in addition to controlling the vehicles. So that no one could transport any illegal goods. 

Rover Nupur, a student of the Bengali department of Rani Bhabani Government Women's College, said, "Not only did we control the vehicles, but we also made numerous pedestrians cross the road. While performing our duties, I also received the love of numerous people. Many of the businessmen and pedestrians fed us soft drinks, juices and snacks.”

 Natore District Scouts Secretary SM Golam Mohiuddin said, "After August 5, 2024, the roads and highways of Natore district became chaotic due to the absence of traffic police. Natore District Scouts came forward in this crisis of the nation." 

The district scouts members were deployed on roads and highways. They performed their duties with devotion for two weeks. In recognition of their service, 276 scout members of Natore have been awarded certificates. 

Natore District Rover Commissioner Dr. Md. Al Amin Islam said that 156 district Rover members and Rover readers who were responsible for roads and highways after the mass uprising have received commendation certificates. It is a matter of pride to receive these certificates.
