RANGPUR, Oct 29, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur district police recovered a single-barrel gun and five rounds of bullets from the Kafrikhal area of Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district on Tuesday night. 
 
District DB police inspector Tajedar Alam Farooqui confirmed the matter on this afternoon. 
 
"On a tip-off, we conducted a raid at 9:15 pm on Tuesday in the betel nut and coconut orchard of Rabiul Islam in the Kafrikhal area and recovered a single-barrel gun and five rounds of bullets abandoned in a white plastic bag wrapped in paper," he said. 
 
However, a shadow investigation is underway to ascertain who left the weapons and bullets there. 
 
"After filing a general diary in this incident, we handed over the recovered firearms and bullets to Mithapukur police station," said Inspector Farooqui.
 
Later, if evidence of anyone's involvement in this incident is found, legal action will be taken accordingly.
