NARSINGDI, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today staged a protest rally in Madhabdi of Narsingdi demanding the trial of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her associates for allegedly ordering the killings during the 'Logi-Boitha' violence on October 28, 2006, in Dhaka's Paltan area.
Organized under the party's central directive, the rally started in front of Jalpatti Mosque at Madhabdi Bazar, marched through different parts of the town and ended with a discussion meeting near the CMB Mosque gate on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.
Madhabdi Thana Jamaat Ameer Abdul Aziz addressed the event as the chief guest, while Madhabdi City Jamaat Ameer Aminul Haque presided over the programme.
Thana Secretary Jafar Ullah Khan, Finance Secretary Ibrahim Molla, City Secretary Moyazzem Hossain Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary Nazrul Islam, Office Secretary Ismail Hossain, and Ward No. 2 President Azgar Ali, among others, were also present.
Speakers at the rally said the horrific massacre of October 28, 2006, remains a dark chapter in the nation's history.
They said that justice must be served for all killings committed during Sheikh Hasina's rule, including those that occurred during the 2024 mass uprising.
Jamaat leaders also pledged to continue peaceful mass movements to safeguard national sovereignty and ensure people's rights.
