BAGERHAT, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) – Freedom fighters were accorded a reception at Mollahat here today.

Organised by the Mollahat Upazila BNP, the reception was held at KR College ground at noon.

Bagerhat District BNP Coordinator M. A. Salam attended the event as the chief guest.

In his speech, M. A. Salam said, “The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is a party founded on the ideals of the great independence proclaimer, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. The party is the guardian of independence and multi-party democracy.”

He warned that if BNP is defeated in the upcoming national elections, the country could once again go to the era of Pakistan.

Md. Akbar Azad, convener of the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Command, Bagerhat District Unit, was present as the main speaker.

The program was presided over by Mollahat Upazila BNP President Sheikh Hafizur Rahman and moderated by General Secretary Md. Harun Al Rashid.

Bagerhat District BNP Member Secretary Muzaffar Rahman Alam, Joint Convener Shamsher Ali Mohan, Khadem Niyamul Nasir Alap, Bagerhat Municipality BNP President Sheikh Shahed Ali Robi, and Sadar Upazila BNP President Syed Nasir Ahmed Malek were present as special guests.

A large number of freedom fighters and their family members from different unions of the upazila attended the reception. At the beginning of the program, the freedom fighters were greeted with flowers.
