GOPALGANJ, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - A truck helper was killed in a road accident in Pathalia area of Sadar upazila in the district this morning.
 
The deceased was identified as Md Jasim Sheikh, 23, son of Sahabur Sheikh of Char Darial village under Mollahat upazila in Bagerhat district.
 
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway when a speedy truck hit a standing truck beside the road, leaving the speedy truck helper Jasim critically injured, said Bhatiapara Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Roman Mollah.
 
Later, locals rescued him and took him to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
