BAGERHAT, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) – Seeds of winter vegetables were distributed among 530 small and marginal farmers of Chitalmari upazila of the district today to increase the production in the Rabi season.
 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Sajjad Hossain distributed the seeds among the farmers at a function held on the premises of the Upazila Agriculture Office this morning.
 
Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Habibur Rahman, Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Ahmed Iqbal, Upazila LGED Office Engineer Md. Saddam Hossain, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Upazila ICT Officer Sheikh Mohammad Faisal, Upazila Social Service Office Officer-in-Charge Ranjan Halder, Upazila Election Office Officer Ruman Hussain and Upazila Academic Supervisor Pradeep Kumar Bhowmik were present at the event.
 
Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Md. Sifat Al Maruf said 9 packets of 7 types of seeds were distributed among a total of 530 small and marginal farmers in 7 unions of the upazila. The packets included gourd, sweet pumpkin, brinjal, radish, red cabbage, artichoke, spinach and pea seeds.
