HABIGANJ, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) - One person was killed and 20 others were injured when a passenger bus lost control and overturned in Madhabpur upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Badal Mia, 30, son of Biltu Mia of Birpasha village under Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

Police said the accident occurred when a passenger bus, heading from Bijoynagar towards Murarband Mazar in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj, skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch in the Bezura area after the driver lost control on steering.

The injured were taken to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex where Badal Mia succumbed to his injuries.

Being informed, a team from Shayestaganj Highway Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.

Sub-Inspector Moshior Rahman of Shayestaganj Highway Police confirmed the incident, saying the accident took place when the bus overturned and fell into a roadside ditch on its way to Murarband Mazar.
