CHATTOGRAM, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) - RAB-7 arrested a fugitive, Md Mahbub Alam (43), who had escaped from police custody during a raid in the Faizulla Balir Bari area under Chandgaon Police Station in the early hours of today. 

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain informed BSS that, acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a raid in the area and arrested him around 4:45 am on Sunday. 

ARM Mozaffar Hossain further added that, after examining the documents, it was found that Md Mahbub Alam has six cases of sabotage and drug-related offenses filed against him in different police stations across Chattogram district and city.

Mahbub was later handed over to the Double Mooring Police Station for further legal procedures. 

Earlier, on September 22, Mahbub was apprehended and escorted to a police vehicle from the vicinity of the Pathantuli Gayebi Mosque in the city. During the process, a dispute arose between the police and some individuals in the area. Seizing the moment, Mahbub escaped from the vehicle while still in handcuffs.
