MAGURA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) – The Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) today fined two shops Tk 1 lakh for selling unauthorized and adulterated food items.
During a drive in the Jamrultala area, M/s Bhai Bhai Store was fined Tk 30,000, while M/s Mamun Store was slapped with a fine amounting to Tk 70,000. The mobile court also ordered M/s Mamun Store to remain closed for 10 days.
A large quantity of adulterated chocolates, baby foods, and substandard pickles were seized and later destroyed. Magura district police assisted in the operation.
DNCRP Magura Deputy Director Sajal Ahmed said the drive was part of regular market monitoring to protect public health. “Similar operations will continue in the future,” he added.
