RANGPUR, Oct 20, 2025 (BSS) - Experts at a workshop today said that
formulating a cluster-based development plan is crucial to develop Rangpur,
one of the country's most important cities, as a tolerant, planned and
sustainable nodal city.

Through this plan, priority projects will be determined for the construction
of city roads, sanitation, drainage, water supply, market development, and
environment-friendly infrastructure.

They viewed this at the event on "Cluster Development Plan including Capital
Investment Plan and City Resilience Action Plan", held at Rangpur City
Corporation (RpCC) hall room under the Resilient Urban and Territorial
Development Project.

which will play an important role in future urban development and investment
plans.

After implementation of the project, Rangpur will be transformed into a well-
planned smart and modern city where all civic amenities, a clean environment
and income opportunities will be ensured so that the quality of citizen's
life will improve, the speakers said.

They forwarded various suggestions and stressed on maintaining the geo-
natural environment of Rangpur city, preventing unplanned urbanization,
development of tourism industry and ensuring better citizen life.

The esteemed plan will help to determine and conserve land and its status for

the air, water, rail, road and highway traffic, preservation and supply of
water and sewage removal.

The RpCC Administrator sought cooptation of all concerned to build the
