RANGPUR, Oct 18, 2025 (BSS) - Deputy Director General of Ansar and VDP's Rangpur Range Mohammad Abdul Awal has said the trained Ansar members must play an effective role in patriotism, discipline and socio-economic development.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 14-day Basic Training (Phase three) for 136 upazila/thana Ansar members at the Mahiganj Ansar-VDP Training Center in Rangpur City on Saturday.

Emphasizing the importance of the Ansar force in various development-oriented activities of the country, the chief guest said that Ansar-VDP is the factory for creating skilled manpower in the country.

"That is why Ansar-VDP has created employment opportunities through technical and vocational training. Training should not only increase skills but also play a leading role in the security and social development of the nation," he said.

He said trained Ansar members will have to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and efficiency while performing their duties in the upcoming national elections by utilizing the acquired knowledge, skills and experience.

"Ansar-VDP members will have to work for the welfare of the people by creating self-employment through the use of Ansar basic training knowledge," he said.

In rural areas, anti-social activities such as drugs, terrorism, child marriage, dowry, women's oppression, and gang violence must be prevented to take Bangladesh forward step by step towards economic prosperity.

He called for establishing Ansar members as entrepreneurs through small projects for employment by utilizing the talent, labor and skills of the training and making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the entire country.

Presided over by Ansar-VDP's Rangpur District Commandant and Training Course Captain Rashedul Islam, Sadar Upazila Ansar-VDP officer Bijan Dutta and Kaunia Upazila Trainer Md Jewel Rana were present at the ceremony.
