NATORE, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) – A traditional Nouka Baich (boat race) was held today at Chalan Beel in Gurudaspur Upazila here today.

The year the race was arranged with the under the theme, “Preventing river pollution: Let’s build a clean Bangladesh.” 

A total of 12 teams competed in the Panshi boat race. New Ekota Express emerged as the champion and received a motorbike as the prize. 

Banglar Bagh, the first runner-up, was awarded a refrigerator while Al Madina, the second runner-up, received an LED television.

Md. Saidur Rahman, Secretary of the Department of Health Services, distributed the prizes among the winners.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shahin presided over the prize giving ceremony.
