NAOGAON, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) - A teenage boy drowned in the river Chhota Jamuna at Komarpur-Donail village under Badalgachhi upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Sohel, 15, a student of class ten of Mirzapur K.C. High School of the upazila and son of Arman Hossain, a resident of Komarpur village under Baluvhara union of the upazila. 

Sohel drowned in the river around 1 pm while he was catching fish with his friends.

Sohel was rescued and taken to the Badalgachhi Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Badalgachhi Police Station Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter.
