CHANDPUR, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on the Doshani Beribadh road under Matlab Uttar upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Borhan Uddin, 70, a resident of Mohanpur village in the same upazila.

The accident occurred when a speeding motorcycle hit pedestrian Borhan Uddin, leaving four people, including the rider and two pillion passengers, injured on the spot.

Locals rushed to the scene and took the injured to the Matlab Uttar Upazila Health Complex, where Borhan succumbed to his injuries.

The motorcycle rider, Ishan, 19, of Gopalkandi village, was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. The other two injured, identified as Hasan and Safayet, both aged 16, were co-riders on the motorcycle.

Officer-in-Charge of Matlab Uttar Thana Md Rabiul Haque confirmed the incident.
